DfE: Changes to How Candidates Apply for Teacher Training 2023-24

Candidates will be able to submit their applications for the next recruitment cycle from 10 October 2023 at 9am.

In the next recruitment cycle, we’re changing the way candidates apply for courses. These changes will be in Apply for teacher training (Apply).
Training providers will process applications in the same way in Manage teacher training applications (Manage) or your own student record systems.

The changes we’re making are:

  • applications will not be rejected automatically after 40 working days
  • candidates can apply to another course after 30 working days if they do not get a response on their current applications
  • candidates will be able to apply to a different course as soon as they receive a rejection, or withdraw
  • offers will not be declined automatically after 10 working days
  • candidates can edit parts of their application after they submit them, these changes will be visible in Manage

DfE: Teaching Vacancies – supporting trainee teachers in their job search

The service has been designed to help trainee teachers like you find their first job more easily:

  • Setting up a job alert means you will be the first to know of when jobs go live.
  • Creating a candidate profile lets schools know you are interested in a job in the local area.
  • The quick apply application form means you don’t have to fill out multiple applications.

85% of schools use this service to list their vacancies and it should be the first place you should always check when looking for your new classroom.

Please visit https://teaching-vacancies.campaign.gov.uk/ to check out top tips and register
